moon168 is a push-broom imaging spectrometer designed to support on-orbit SI-traceable observations of the Sun and Earth, as well as broad phase angle lunar irradiance characterization. It will be located on a nadir-pointing site 3 gimbal platform on the ELC-1, and is capable of observing the Moon by placing the instrument’s slit perpendicular to either the roll or pitch axis of the gimbal.
